It is important to highlight the fact that askthenation.com offers a service to those individuals or companies wishing to conduct online surveys and does not use the data posted to the site by survey creators or the data entered by survey respondents for any purpose what so ever except for technical administration of the site.

This data is held entirely in confidence. askthenation.com makes every effort through use of passwords, software and cookies to ensure that this data is protected from any unauthorised access.

We may contact Registered users by email but only in respect of their use or misuse of the site this is done on a personal basis and not an automated system.
We do not contact your users (ie the individuals or companies that you upload into your List Management area.)

Data collected by the surveys you set up on this site is held entirely in confidence and will not be passed to any third parties or used by us in any marketing or promotional activities or in any other way.

We do not collect personally identifiable information about you except when you register to use this site.

We collect IP addresses when you visit this site for system security reasons allowing us to block the address of users who behave in an inappropriate manner when using this site.

This site uses cookies to assist in the smoothing of your access and time on the site these files are very small in size and number and are deleted from your system when you close your browser.

Terms and conditions of use: 

By using this site you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions. 

You undertake that if you complete or generate a survey you will not use language that is offensive or obscene or contrary to the laws of the land.

If you upload an image to the site you will ensure that:
It is not offensive, obscene or pornographic and does not infringe the copyrights of any third party or breach any applicable law.

You must ensure that when using the emailing system built into AskTheNation.com to invite respondents to complete your surveys that you do not breach any laws in respect of " Spam" or any other laws that may be applicable at the time. You must satisfy yourself that by using the emailing system that your recipients are happy to receive email from you.

If surveys created by users result in excessive or  disproportionate undeliverable emails you account will be suspended while we investigate further.

When creating a survey you will not attempt to disguise your identity or the identity of the corporation/ company that you are working for when creating the survey. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Using the redirection service to redirect users to sites other than those owned and operated by you or the company you work for.
  • Using the FromName function - the function that allows Survey creators to add there business or personal name to the from field in the emails sent to invite respondents to complete a survey.
  • Adding logos or images to the surveys you create that are not yours to use.

If we receive complaints from any recipients of emails sent using this system your account will be suspended and your surveys deleted.

You agree to indemnify askthenation.com its parent or subsidiary companies against any actions taken by any party against askthenation.com that arise in respect of your use or misuse of this site.

Multiple log ins are not permitted. It is the responsibility of the survey creator to ensure that the user name and password used to create user accounts are kept confidential and are not shared with other individuals or organisations.

askthenation.com tracks the use of  multiple log ins and if it is suspected that a user account is being used by more than one individual that account will be suspended while we investigate further.

Each user agrees to act as a data controller for the names addresses, email addresses and other personally identifiable information posted to the site when creating email lists to send the surveys to and the data the respondents to your survey choose to post.

You must undertake not to attempt to gain access to areas of the site, its data, programming code or any other parts or areas that you do not have specific rights to view download or use. 

You agree that all data, software and intellectual property contained in this site is all the sole copyright of askthenation.com and  its parent  or subsidiary organisations.

You will not attempt to link to or access a survey within askthenation.com in any way other than those detailed below:

  • From an email sent to a respondent using the emailing system built into askthenation.com
  • From a link from your own site that has been authorised by askthenation.com

Users agree not to send surveys/emails to persons under the age of 18. Any respondent under the age of 18 who receives a survey created on ask the nation is encouraged to ask their parents or guardians to contact askthenation.com and report the offending survey to us.

Surveys created by users of askthenation.com must not contain any of the following:

  • Advertising of any kind.
  • Hotlinks, web addresses or email addresses.
  • Any code or programming language other than to format the text of the questions and advice.
  • Any malicious code designed to collect data from or interfere with in anyway  respondents computers or our computers or servers.

AskTheNation.com reserves the right to delete any user and or any data or surveys created in the site without warning and without having to give reasons for doing so. (This action will only normally be taken if there has been activity by a user which AskTheNation.com feels is inappropriate)

Service limitations

askthenation.com provides the use of the site entirely at the users own risk. askthenation.com provides no guarantee that the service will be available, accurate, reliable or suitable for the purpose it is intended. askthenation.com is not liable for any damage or loss however caused in respect of your presence on or use of the site.

If you do not agree to the above terms of use you must delete any accounts that you may have created and leave the site. Your continued presence or use of the site is taken as explicit agreement to these terms.
